so 2 weeks ago I got rear ended, Drunk/Hit and Run that Destroyed my 2004 Monte Carlo SS. Not injured, thank god, but you never would have beleived that I walked away without a scratch if you saw the car. Now I have about a week left on the rental car to find a replacement. I want another SS, maybe even a Supercharged one, but finding the right one might take a little time. Also, would it be better to go with a slightly newer model year, or slightly older with lower miles? I can find a few at a time online for sale, but they move fast and I really don't want to downgrade from the SS to one of the other Monte Carlo trim levels if I have a choice, but time is not on my side right now since my wife and I will be sharing her car again at the end of the week.

Greetings from a 1986 Monte Carlo SS owner.
Stay with the SS....check Craigslist, Ebay, etc. Not sure what part of the country you're from. I'm from NY and rust is a HUGE issue,
I see a lot of your "years" SS for sale around here. -

Cool David, I like those 80's SS models! I live in New England, (RI), so I am checking for rust issues, (The years I'm looking at seem to have problem spots above the rear wheels). I really want to stay with the SS, I had a beautiful Burgandy colored one with Beige leather interior until the accident. I have noticed that the 06-07 LS has more horsepower than the 04 SS, and there is one for sale near me, still hoping to find another SS before I pull the trigger.Comment
