Thinking about selling at show for the first time..got a few questions

Hey guys, was thinking about selling at my first con ever.. The deal is $300 for 3 days for a 10x10 space? is that a good deal? it's a relatively new con so the traffic may not be crazy good yet. is that a good space for 3 tables? I'll be selling lots of 80's toys, and video games.. i'll probably be the only one there with games which would be a huge plus.. you guys think NES,Snes,Sega, N64, wii, PS games would sell good? thanx for any advice

I think it depends on the con and attendance numbers. Tables at our local 1 day toy show run around $55 and I've set up at a smaller 1-day event in Indiana which were $25.

Prepare for people telling you their life's story (and not buying anything after all that), and lowball offers that will make your eyes bleed.
      Apart from that, it's great...

Price doesn't seem terrible for three days, how big is the venue? My cousin sets up at shows in the Orlando area and does great with 80's stuff. NES games seem to sell pretty well at the shows I do, on the other hand, I have a tough time moving Atari games.

$100 a day is pretty much fair for a Con...but pretty aggressive for a first time con imo...negotiate the price...I charge $35 for an eight foot table at my one day toy show ..

Now with that said people who go to Cons are totally different from those who go to collectible toy shows! I did a Con to promote my next toy show, brought toys that hadn't sold at prior show and put a bin of mediocre records at five bucks a pop...because I was the only vendor selling records and vintage unusual toys i sold everything out at higher prices than at my toy shows! Crazy! Con attendees go with tons of disposable income...don't forget to cater to the ladies as they often have higher rates of disposable income in my experience. Try to label and price everything so you can still make sales when you step away and you will have to...

Also maximize your 10 x 10 space with any shelving you can get away with above and below tables! More product exposed properly means more sales. Consider sharing space with maybe a fellow mego museum member? I did that at my Con, you need a buddy to watch over your stuff and breaks anyway...I think there is a lot of mm members from Florida. What theme is the con?
