What should I go see in the Vegas and LA area?

Later this year (Oct-Nov), I'll be visiting the US, starting in Vegas and going to LA and that general area.

Any pointers as to what I should visit?

Not just the sights, but great stores that someone like me would like to see. I'm thinking of collectible toys, a decent bookstore with older hardcover books, a store that sells a lot of collector soundtracks (Goldsmith, Williams, etc, not High School Musical).

We're making our travel plans now, so any info is highly appreciated!!!

Pawn Stars could also point you to some of those other places you want to see, since they have dealings
      with them.

Rik, if you do decide to go to Pawn Stars look around and see if you have anything you might want to try and sell them (don't have to be just pop collectibles).

Just make sure you're very careful travelling with anything valuable.

I'd advise him against this...they will super lowball him big time...it's a pawn shop...absolutely the worst place to sell an item.

I've been to the Pawn Stars place a number of times. I got to meet Rick (the owner) a few years ago, those guys don't normally come out anymore. You might be surprised what you'll find there for sale, usually higher prices than expected but you never know.

If you've never been to Vegas before, hit up Hoover Dam while you're there. I always enjoy going to Red Rock Canyon or Valley of Fire if you like to look at scenery. Show wise, the Beatles Love show is always a favorite of mine.

Our next trip my son wants to hit this place up: http://www.battlefieldvegas.com/

They also have day helicopter rides from Vegas to Grand Cannon.

Oh, I almost forgot ... If flying into/out-off McCarran airport stay away from their slot machines.

They're put there for bored travels that have nothing to do while waiting and they NEVER pay out anything.

I really need to get to Vegas soon and check out the Beatles "Love" show. Both my kids are big fans, I'm sure we would all have a blast.

If you like the Beatles you'll like this. I've been to it, 4-5 times over the years.
