    Action Park

Action Park - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a pretty interesting read about Action Park which seemed to be a pretty unsafe amusement park in NJ from 1978 to 1996. I love this passage:

Its popularity went hand in hand with a reputation for poorly-designed, unsafe rides; inattentive, underaged, underpaid and sometimes under-the-influence employees[1]; equally intoxicated and underprepared visitors — and the poor safety record that followed from this perfect storm of circumstances

I actually have been there about 10,000 times

      Ahh good old Traction Park.

People would get hurt there all the time! Everyone came home with scrapes and bruises. Others left with broke limbs and even a few fatalities.

My mom would never let me go -- they had this cool Apline slide that I was dying to try. But that was one of the more dangerous rides the track was cement and you would get nasty burns if you hit the sides. You could actually go too fast and wipe out as well.

I used to see adds for tyhis place all the time growing up in Philly. I always wanted to go for the go-karts. Little did I know it was so dangerous. For some reason, they never mentioned the deaths in their commercials.

Went there once and thought it was fun in 96. The looping water slide was closed and someone said because someone broke their neck. Ah, what fun
