    Phantom Menace, indeed....

    Yahoo News:
"Jake Lloyd, who played Anakin Skywalker in 'Star Wars: The Phantom Menace,' has been moved from a jail cell to a psychiatric facility. Jake's been behind bars since June for taking cops on a chase that exceeded speeds of 100 mph. The actor's mom, Lisa, tells us authorities reached the conclusion he needed help more than punishment, because he suffers from schizophrenia ... thus the move. Lisa says she spoke with Jake last week and can already see an improvement in Jake's personality. We're told there's no timetable for his release. His family wants him to take his time to get healthy. ... "

Sad to hear. The fans hated him for Phantom Menace, and it just gets worse....

Very sad indeed. Sometimes fanboys make me sick. I remember people...adults mind you...wishing death or worse on this poor kid over a freaking movie. He endured years of harassment and bullying.

Yeah, I hope he gets the help he needs. I think most people are inherently good but there is a small segment to any passion who cross the line.

It must have been a confusing way to grow up. All the attention at first. Then all the negativity. As a kid, that must have messed with his mind. It certainly didn't help him, even if he was born with a mental problem.

Wasn't he also the main kid, Jamie, in Jingle All The Way?

The poor kid. I never understood why people chose to hate him over that crappy movie.

Okay, so he wasn't that great of an actor back then. He was ten freaking years old! Give the poor thing a break.

I sincerely hope he gets better.

I never got all the hate anyway. I liked and still like, Phantom Menace. it's not perfect but he is far from the biggest problem with the movie. I like it for what it is, not what it isn't. at any rate I hope he gets the help he needs. I saw him at Star Wars Weekends many years back. I did not get in line for an autograph, cause that's not my thing, but it was cool seeing him up close. Warwick Davis was in the next booth

So, so sad. No one deserves what he's endured. I hope he gets well. It's not really my place to say, but if I were any of the actors, crew, or even George himself, who worked closely with him, I would try to reach out to him and offer support. Perhaps some have, and we'll never know, but this young man deserves better from the world.

I hope he gets all the help he needs. Sadly some people take Star Wars far too seriously.

Awfully sad. I was never a fan, but never in a million years would I have wished this on him. Really hope he sorts things out. Those people should be so proud of themselves. Really hope they get theirs.

My son and I stood in line for his autograph on our first visit to Disney's Hollywood Studios during Star Wars Weekend back in 2012. He seemed like he wanted to be anywhere else but there, and only feigned a smile when talked to. Very sad.

Yeah, I have never understood why ANYONE could take this film and personalize it to him as if he had any decisions in the production or direction. He was a small kid getting a big part in a Star Wars movie. We all would have jumped for joy at the shot. I hope he gets the help he needs and that fans from the Star Wars clubs actually get behind him. He deserves their moral support.
