Tatort (Crime Scene), Das Kriminalmuseum (Crime Museum), Der Kommissar (The Commissioner), Stahlnetz (Dragnet)

These four are the most famous and successful German crime series. There were also many police series which I wouldn't put into the genre of crime.
If you need the police series, just tell me.

I also asked my mom about some 60s TV series as she grew up in that time:

All I know is it was in black and white and possibly made in the 1950's.

A long time ago a buddy told me it was filmed in English but all the actors had German accents.

Yes, you're right. There really was a Flash Gordon TV series from 1954-1955 with 39 episodes which was made in the USA and Germany.
