    How WAS your weekend?

As far as my weekend went I pretty much did all of the stuff that I set out to do which was not a whole lot. Found some great sales. I am sad to report that I found nothing Mego though. Even more sadly while I was away looking at sales locally there looked to be some pretty good sales going on right here in The Market Place. It never fails. I guess this coming weekend I will just have to stay by the PC and wait patiently. hahaha On the brighter side the weather was awesome here and I did manage to find some Megoish items for customs so not all was a loss. I hope that everyone had a great weekend where ever you are and whatever you did.

Sounds . I would like to see. You should post some pics when you get a chance if you have not already done so. Thanks for sharing.

Pretty good. Drove home from visiting the folks. Stopped in a few flea markets. Nothing special, except I inadvertantly found a mego scale sword for $2 (Turned out to be an original conan sword) I didn't know until I checked it out today online. And then lurking in a pile of modern action figs, was an older 10" figure wearing bright red cordoroy pants and an ugly hawaiin shirt. The back said "Gabriel 1973 Lone Ranger". Got him for 4 bucks. Now I can spend 50 piecing his outfit back together. He is in really nice shape. Must have been his extended Hawaiian vacation.

Excellent, went to Chicago to hit the Kane show with a bunch of folks from here and had a mini megomeet after, too much fun for words. Almost missed my flight home and got treated to a delightful search and interogation from the fine people at Canada customs, who rifled through my belongings for a good hour.
Now I'm so tired I can barely function.

I would consider finding an original Mego Conan Sword at a flea market pretty special. I wanted to stop in at some flea markets over the weekend, but the H2 was already full of other stuff from our previous sale finds. That and the fact that my gf did not feel like going to the flea markets. I cannot help but wonder to know what I had or maybe had or might of had missed by not going. Sounds like you have landed a couple of nice finds yourself. Good work!

A mini Mego Meet - Now I could definitely go for that. I am getting all rambunctious just thinking of Mego Meet 08 - The real deal. The count down continues!!! Did you ever think that the Canadian Customs people wanted to search through all of your stuff to check out your cool Mego's? I do sincerely hope that there wasn't any missing Mego's when you got home. Sounds like a great time other than the white glove inspection from the customs people.

When the inspector opened my bag to reveal a bag of loose mego, he said with disgust "what are you some kind of doll collector or something?". His face looked like he had just smelled some sort of bad cheese.

Actually, the Conan sword turned out to be rather special. My GF bought me a good Conan with bad accessories last week for a present. She doesn't know much about the accessories, but his head is in perfect shape with original tunic, and now he has an OG sword. The quest for OG parts is underway, so if anybody reads this and has any conan stuff for trade or sale...

Mine was great - spent it at the Pittsburgh Comicon. The toy shopping this year wasn't great, but I got some good deals on comics. I also helped with a panel and met some cool Star Wars fans while walking around in costume.

I spent $100 on extra fabric that I probably won't ever use, got my hands dirty working on my first serious sculpt, finished 3 ANSA outfits...It was quite a productive weekend.

Finally, the soccer team I coach tied a game which is as good as a win for me. My girls are playing in a very competitive division and have been getting our rear end handed to us week in and week out. My team is a year younger than most of the teams we're playing against and although my stronger players can hold their own, my weaker girls just can't compete. Last week, we almost pulled a stunner being down 4-nil at halftime, we came back and only lost 4-3. I tried to build off that comeback last week and ended up with a 1-1 tie but my team dominated throughout and had the ball on their end of the field most of the game. My daughter was the one who striked the equalizer which made it especially nice since I have been working with her one on one quite a bit outside of practice.

My 8 year old also played in a game and scored on a breakaway giving his team a 1-nil victory. He is very talented but usually only gives 50% effort. He has inherited an oddity....he is right handed but left footed.

It was one of those nice weekends where we toted our kids off to soccer games and were pleasantly surprised with the outcome and their performances on the field.
