Sorry to hear this. I loved the White Shadow when I was a kid, my dad was a coach and a great basketball player, and I grew up playing in all the youth leagues, so the show really spoke to me. And for a white kid from a small town, watching all the issues the guys from Carver High dealt with was very educational..

Just read that...71 is too young...he should've live 20 more years.

I too used to watch the White Shadow religiously back in the day.

He was an imposing man, 6' 6"...

      RIP

Funny how someone could be so recognizable to me after not seeing him in years. I recognized him right away in Rambo (from 2008!), and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Didnt realize how much acting he had done in recent years. A real star presence.

How sad. I was a fan of his in many venues, not only TV/film, but also theatre.

He starred on Broadway in the musicals Promises, Promises and (one of my favorites) 1776.

I don't really care for basketball, but I loved The White Shadow. Excellent series. RIP Ken Howard.

The White Shadow was his nickname in high school...he was the only white starter on his basketball team. That's where he got inspiration for the show.

Great show with great characters like Salami.

                RIP Coach Reeves
