Thoughts and prayers going out the the people in Brussels

I know we have at least a couple of members here from Belgium. Our small community is world wide. I don't know any words that could possibly help right now but my thoughts and prayers go out the people effected by the cowardly terrorist acts committed there earlier this morning.

Our national airport was hit by a suicide bomber who exploded in the middle of the check-in lobby. So far, 21 people died there, but others are still in hospital, so more might die. The bomb exploded at an American airline counter.
The subway was hit near the European Union Headquarters, killling at least 14 people. They are still digging out bodies. It was the subway station I used for over ten years when I worked in that area.
One of the reasons for this attack is probably the arrest of the mastermind behind the Paris attacks. Abdeslam was captured last week by a Belgian SWAT team, in the heart of Brussels. This could be retaliation.

This is terrible, Rik. It is a bad feeling to know that this type of thing is happening at all, but it truly pains me to know that I have a friend living so close to this violence.

I just found out here, and immediately stuck on BBC world. Theres no stopping these people, they want to die, and europe has just let in thousands of unknowns. The mind boggles, they spend all this money on security and intel, but dont have the logic to stop these people coming in.

ADMIN: Let's not spin a tragedy such as this into a political conversation please. I understand emotions are high when horrible events like this occur but it does no good.

My emotions are too high to comment without probably saying something forbidden (as B stated) so i'll just say good luck to the good people of Belgium and France

Just heard of this myself. Prayers and condolences to anyone and everyone affected by this senseless, pointless act. The Lord is there amongst you to guide and comfort you during the days and weeks to come...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I agree with Brian. Politics often spoil the essential thing here: people died. Not just "Western" people, but Muslims as well. Innocent Muslims, on their way to their job or traveling. Sadly enough, a lot of the people who are doing this are not refugees, they are "born and bred" in the "Western World". Turning against their own countrymen. It's a human tragedy, not a political one.
When you look at the bombs they used, nasty fragmentation bombs, there were families with little kids there. What kind of a cesspool must it be inside the heads of those killers...

My heart goes out to everyone effected by this horrible tragedy.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
