    Peyton Manning retires

He had an AMAZING career. One of the best to ever do it. He went out on top.

Not surprised, and he classically went the Elway route. Now the question is, will he go into the Hall as Broncos or Colts?

He played 14 of 18 seasons with the Colts, won one of his Superbowls with them and was drafted by them, so I have to think he goes in as a Colt. The only guy I can think of that had great success with two teams and picked the team for the HOF that didn't draft him was Marcus Allen, who was furious with Al Davis.

You don't go into the football HOF "as" anything other than an individual, those busts aren't wearing team helmets or uniforms, and the gold jackets don't have team logos. The only thing that's represented is the man and his career statistics..

I didn't know this, I thought they went in with the jersey and helmet of the team they played for along with their
stats, I knew about the busts but not the other stuff, thanks for that info.

I had to look this up. The HOF has always had the jackets and the busts without logos or team names as mentioned above. But at one point before free agency, each team had it's own section and the players in the HOF were featured in that section with jerseys, helmets, etc. So the Steelers and Packers had a dozen guys, and the Falcons had one. It appears they've done away with that now, though it's been a while since I've been there. The player picks who he wants to introduce him now, and that's where the team could come in. So does Charles Haley pick a Cowboy or a 49er to introduce him? Or even his mother, for that matter. The website also has ways to look up players by teams. I think given free agency, this is a better way to do it now.
