YouTube charging $1.99 to view old school Hanna Barbera cartoons

Man...really? I know bootlegging is a problem, but YouTube used to have "official" channels you could watch for free. (and they really were on a YouTube official channel). Wacky Races, The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop, Birdman & The Galaxy Trio...seriously? An afternoon of relaxing on my day off watching some old school cartoons could really add up!

What do you guys think about this?

<---This is how I feel about it!

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic

I don't see why HB shouldn't make money on its properties, either this way or with syndication.

Well on TV would have been better, seeing as how I'm already paying for cable.

Interesting... I checked Ebay and Amazon for a price quote for something like Wacky Races and they were pretty high. Low-end $49.77, high-end over $100+. Crazy... I guess that charge is a reflection to the secondary demand.

I got the DC Filmation set and a pile of Superfriends sets for $2.99 at the Ex last summer.

I know, I did the same thing, thinking it would be cheaper to buy them. Man are they expensive!

And of course Boomerang no long airs ANY of these shows. The Flintstones, classic Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry are the only "old" toons they air now. It's basically Cartoon Network 2 now.

HB cartoons are not Retro-Vogue like they used to be.

I'm guessing they're not going to make very much money and go back to being "free" --- meaning you have to watch a commercial every five minutes during the run.
