It's refreshing after seeing so many emaciated models who look like they're starving and living on coffee, cigarettes and crystal meth.
And most of these young women don't even have attractive faces anymore. I often go "she's a model???!!!"

So these "plus size" (stupid name really) models are a great idea. Let's call them "normal people".

I think Monty Python might've summed it up best...

I'll be more impressed when they put ugly people on the cover.

This picture without her make-up is kinda scary - does it count?

Yeah, actually it is OK. People come in all shapes and sizes and you can be overweight and healthy.

It is good to see women with some curves in the swimsuit edition and plus-size women gaining ground in both the modeling and the real world. It gets tiresome seeing some of these young ladies whose main meal of the day might be a piece of lettuce and whose bones protrude from their anatomy in ways that are anything but sexy.

There was a time when the above model would not be considered overweight --- she would be called "healthy"

Somehow between then and now everything got screwed up.

I still don't get the appeal of an overly skinny emaciated woman... they look like boys rather than women - at least I think so.

The femininity is missing and replaced with androgyny

                              No, bad job on you.

First of all, it's not like she's a bed confined 600 pound behemoth or anything. She's a good looking plus sized woman. You almost are making it sound like she's a monster or something. I don't see any giant rolls of flesh on her...she's just a curvy and voluptuous beautiful woman.

Fat people can be healthy contrary to popular belief. Humans come in different size and shapes.

In fact, those super thin anorexic looking models are more of a bad influence on girls. Not all can be 5' 10" and weigh 105 pounds. You'll have girls trying to attain something not possible, which can lead to both bulimia and anorexia nervosa. Just because someone is thin does not automatically give them a healthy pass. Looks can be deceiving.

Yes, she is plump, and it is okay to be plump.

                              GOOD job, SI...

                                Exactly.

I'm a BIG dude, but healthy as a horse. I trail walk almost everyday, 4-6 miles (I averaged 12 miles a day at my recent Yosemite stay), a lot of the trail is uphill, great workout. I've come across thin newbie hikers trying to keep up with me, I leave them in the dust, lol...
