Aside from his talent, so darn likable too. He's always paying respect to the ones who influenced and paved the way for him, always gracious.

And the very first thing he bought after his first huge check...was to buy his mom a house.

His mom unfortunately died in 2013, she was only 55 years old...

With enough modern tech, a performing seal can win a Grammy these days. They can tweak everything.
And this doesn't make me a grandpa complaining about The Beatles. There are modern artists who still bring decent music to the table and can perform a fantastic live show as well, people with great voices and musical talent.
West is not one of them.
And if I'm allowed to indulge myself for one moment: listen to Tom Jones (old grandpa) sing these days: his powerhouse voice would blow West away. Now that's singing...
