I listened to some D Train and Shalamar back in the day too, Bronxboy!"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

I gotta go with a Certain Ratio- knife slits water. An under the radar band but very good stuff. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yP7fE6rZeloComment

Most of the 12" extended Queen remixes on "The 12" collection" are really good. The best thing about them is that the structure of the song stayed intact, and the extended parts did not come at the expense of chopping the song up.
Example: "I Want to Break Free"

There's more on YouTube from this album.
Mine is on a cassette tape. Came with an expensive Queen boxed set called "Queen Box of Tricks".
Speaking of rock bands and extended singles, there are a few disasters that happened when otherwise good rock bands like Yes and Cheap Trick tried their hands at extended dance mixes.
To be avoided:
- Yes "Owner of a Lonely Heart" extended version
- Yes "Leave It" (hello goodbye mix)
- Cheap Trick "Saturday at Midnight" (super dance remix)
These horrors are also available on YouTube.Comment
