    Mark Clark murdered

Keene Silfer sent me this sad news this morning, former owner of "Toy Galaxy" and organiser of the "Toyful Weekend" shows in Syracuse was murdered.

Investigators still looking for leads in Liverpool homicide

I didn't really know Mark but he was somewhat of a Toronto legend, he'd cruise into Toronto Toyshows in the pre ebay days when the US dollar was worth 50% more than Canadian and pay handsomely for things. Dealers would get excited by his presence.

His show, in it's mid ninties zenith was worth me driving five hours to. I found some great stuff at those shows.

I live near Syracuse, and saw the story on the local news, but didn't make the connection with the name. I loved those Toyful Weekend shows at the State Fairgrounds in the late 90s.. and I think they continued up until about 2002. I also stopped into his Toy Galaxy shop in N. Syracuse once years ago, but didn't spend more than a few minutes. The place was overpacked with toys (and junk) everywhere, and there wasn't anyone in sight, employees or customers. I felt uncomfortable, so I bolted.

Very sorry to hear this. Awful story.

Whoa is this a shock. I use to buy stuff from him when he did the Bouckville Antique Show.

I knew him well- a generous guy- and his dad was always nice, too. So, so sad....

Wow, I haven't heard that name in a long time. I used to buy vintage Star Wars toys from a while ago at toy shows in New Jersey. Thats too bad.

Wow, I read that and was shocked! I bought my first RCB from him through his Toyshop auction back in early 96. I remember waiting anxiously and the thrill I got going to the post office to get it after not seeing one since the early 70's. Boy, his toys were always "Quality" as he stated in his ads.

                          Sad to hear.
