Watermarking for online & auction photos

    Hi All,

After an unfortunate experience with my last auction listings I've finally decided I need to watermark my pics. I'm using Mac OSX with basic iPhoto, any suggestions?

I'm tempted by a $20 programme called iWatermark, anyone used that?

    Thanks in advance!

If anyone wants to steal my pictures, they can have them

The museum has been doing it for a while now because evey once in a while a photo would be stolen for a high end item.
I loved it when they just linked to the site. When that happens you just change the photo to screw up the auction.

There is a way and I don't know how it works that you can prevent someone from even saving a picture from Ebay. I know one time, I wanted a picture not to reuse but for my own database and every time I tried to save the picture a message appeared that said something to the effect of "you are unauthorized to perform this function". It reminded me of Newman from Jurassic Park going "Ah, Ah, Ah, and wagging his finger at me"

I am very familiar with the java script utilizing the "no right click" method. However, Can't one just snag a picture with a screen capture utility and use it/modify it if they really wanted to be devious and fraudulent? I have always laughed at auction sites and picture sites that try and prevent one from obtaining a picture/video. If I can see it then it is mine if I should so desire it. That is my philosophy.

just write your user id through the middle of the pic...so it cant be cropped out...i know it's not the best idea..but it will work for now...just a thought....

when i say "write", i mean, use something like photoshop to put it into the pic...it's easy...

I have always been able to just use the "PRINT SCREEN" button and then paste the resulting screengrab into my application of choice...
