Cool. You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return... -

I saw a goshawk rip a pigeon to shreds in my backyard a couple of years ago.

When I was a kid I had cousins who lived in Arizona, and when my baby cousin Daxon was outside, this hawk swooped down and almost grabbed him! My aunt came outside swinging a broom and chased it off."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

I wonder if it is hunting something? I had some mice around work and a grey hawk was hanging around. It swooped down when I was feeding the small birds (I was in the car) so I started eating my lunch out with them in hopes of spooking it off. It only hung around for about a week and then I didnt see it again.Comment

A hawk can't take flight with an average sized healthy human baby (unless it's an exposed premature baby weighing less than 4 pounds). The average male hawk weight 2.7-3 pounds, females up to 4 pounds, tops.
A female bald eagle weighs about 13 pounds.
No evidence of an eagle carrying a child, much less a hawk.
Great scientific link on the subject:
Having said that, an eagle can obviously hurt and even kill a child, on the ground, but certainly not take flight with it. A hawk can also take our your eyes, brake your finger...but highly doubtful it could kill a six year old weighing 50 pounds or so.
Falcon is even smaller than a hawk, and while it can't take flight with something heavier than its body...it can certainly kill it...as this video demonstrates, as it takes down a goose...
