Well, actually I never watched it as a kid. I only discovered it when Cozi-TV picked it up. (It has since moved to Me-TV Mystery movies). But I really liked it.

      Love the show !!!

Never seen or heard of it back in the day ...

Started watching it when it when aired on A&E back in the 90's and was a huge fan ever since.

Being Polish I also love the fact he was the first outright proud Polish TV hero at the time the "Polish joke" was at it's zenith.

None of that for Thomas Banacek.

Nope, just Polish proverbs that would leave you scratching your head.

The coolest of the 70s detectives, and real, fair mysteries that were like enormous puzzles or magic tricks you can actually solve if you're paying attention. And to think, if it wasn't for Peppard's divorce, we would have had at least a couple more seasons of the original series and some 90s TV movies (like Perry Mason and Columbo got).

            Hey, Mike...

            What's a Polish parachute?

            ...one that opens on impact...

There's an old Polish proverb that says, even a thousand szloty note can't tapdance

The lovely Victoria Principal was in the airplane episode.

And there is the obligatory Football episode.

Margot Kidder ... early 70's, asking if Banacek's name is like Superman ... Mind you this is many years pre Superman The Movie........
