Bummer, I used to listen to them allot when I was in high school when my classmates were either listening to Mötley Crüe, Run DMC, Prince or Ratt. The 60s stuff was stellar. So deep. Psychedelic or Acid Rock. RIP

Wow, also Rest in Peace Signe Toly Anderson, original female vocalist for the Jefferson Airplane who died on the same day as Kantner.

I didn't remember there was a female vocalist prior to Grace Slick

Of course being that I was born in December of that year, quite excusable.
They used to open for the Doors.
Imagine seeing both bands in concert at a small venue in the mid sixties.

I bet that was a trip. And that's no exhagggeration

Signe Anderson, Jefferson Airplane's original female vocalist, passed away at 74 on January 28th, the same day former band mate Paul Kantner died.

It happens. Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both died on the same day, Independence Day in 1826. John Adam's dying words where something like.. "Jefferson lives". Ironically, Jefferson died hours before.

Also both Henry Blakes from MASH died so close McClean Stevenson's death totally overshadowed Roger Bowen (who died the next day)

Surrealistic Pillow is one of the greatest rock albums of all time. It's sad that today's youth don't even know who these people are. I am proud to say my children not only know most of these bands/artists, but have them on their ipads or whatever. my 11 year old daughter just told me she has to do a project for music class and is doing it on RUSH. Proud papa right here
