He had a pivotal role in the Godfather...perhaps not a lot of screen time, but memorable scene when he knows his life was about to end.

Wow he actually did die this time. I remember all those "Fish is dead" stories. He and the eternal Betty White had one of my favorite Super Bowl commercials. It was for Snickers.

RIP, Fish. This time for real, or so it would seem.

Thats very sad to hear, I was lucky enough to meet him back in the summer of 1995, just a simple hello and handshake
I remember he did have a pretty strong grip though. He was a very fine actor, "Fish, Barney Miller, Godfather
          RIP

He had that unique voice, along with his mannerisms, that always let you know when you were watching Abe Vigoda. My father, God rest his soul, loved the character of Fish, perhaps because they had a lot of commonalities. Rest in Peace, Mr. Vigoda. Condolences to your family, friends and fans.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

He lived a long time and I really loved him in Barney Miller and his own spin-off series. RIP Fish. You will be missed.

Also a pivotal role in Batman: Mask of the Phantasm as mobster Sal Velestra. He was great in that, just with his voice.

He was a great guy. I lived in the same neighborhood with him for 15 years. Up until the past handful of years, I saw him weekly. Once, shortly after I moved to this neighborhood and had seen him several times, I was leaving work early one summer evening, on the far upper west side, and who's walking down the sidewalk toward me? It was Abe!! At that time, I went home and kiddingly told my wife that he must be stalking me as the upper west side is nowhere close to the neighborhood we shared, in a city of over 8 million people.

May you rest in peace, Abe.

Abe used to make frequent appearances on Late Night with Conan, and Conan paid tribute to him last nite:
