New Episodes of "LOST" start Thurs 4/24

Ok it's been a month since we got some new episodes. Between Lost and Battlestar Galactica, I'll be up to watching two full hours of TV a week. Don't know if I can stand to be away from my computer for that long though, I've gotten used to watching basically nothing.

Don't know what I'll do if "24" ever comes back. Is FOX even still a network? They don't seem to have anything on EVER! Are the Simpsons still on? What was I talking about again?

    Oh yeah...LOST.

Lost is so confusing, hope they round things up soon.

Thought they were making a 24 movie instead of the series.

24 was supposed to return back in January. But Keifer got in trouble and was in jail, so that's probably why it was delayed.

Lost is only confusing if you haven't been following along. I have been on major Lost withdrawal when they stopped midseason.

The good news is that there is nothing on worth watching, so I have been able to read a lot of good books. I decided to start reading David McCullough's "1776". I bought the book when it first was released and never got around to reading it. With the release of HBO "John Adams", I decided to pick it up.

Lost is probably my all-time least favorite show...I just can't stand it...I hate it.

But I respect you liking it...so carry on, Sir.

There are shows that are much worse:

              Dancing With The Stars
              Nanny 911
              American Idol
              Survivor
              Extreme Makeover
              Oprah's Big Gift
              The Bachelor
              Big Brother
              Wife Swapping

and so on......(so what's left on TV?)

John Adams (although the mini-series just ended)
                The Tudors
                Dexter
                Battlestar Galactica
                HBO & Showtime boxing
                Xtreme Fighting on Showtime
                Movies
Food Network (I love all the cooking shows)
Discovery, History, TLC, and National Geographic Channels

What I'm trying to say, is get away from the big four Networks (NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox)...and move on down to the world of cable...it's not even close.

But I agree, Lost is really not the worst (I'm just messing with you)...the ones you listed are worse indeed (except for American Idol because I watch it, lol):

                Dancing With The Stars
                Nanny 911
                American Idol

                The Bachelor

Yes... every show is worse than Lost! I've been with it the whole way through, and I love it. I'm glad they're going to, like BSG, limit it. Next year's the end.

I think Lost is the best show ever, I've been hooked since the first episode. I borrowed the box set for season 1 and watched it in two days. I can't understand what's not to like about it? Mystery, suspense, a monster, hot girls, drama, is funny at times. Might just be too much for some people.

I love LOST because it's one of the few shows on the regular networks that has elements of sci-fi/action/adventure. These types of shows were always my favorite as a kid. I do like HEROES also, but I don't watch that one on aired TV. When the first season came out on DVD I bought it and watched it straight through without commercials. I tried to watch the 2nd season on TV and it just moved too slow and the commericials came on every 5 minutes. So I'll wait the for the DVD release of that one too so I can watch it in its entirety.

I watch TV to get away from reality so it's a safe bet that I don't watch any reality shows or game shows. I'm not into sports and I tend to put them in the same category as reality TV. I don't watch the news because it's either too depressing or all they ever seem to do is look for reasons why something "could" be bad for you. There are hardly any sitcoms worth watching these days. The only one I watch on occassion is "Two and Half Men", Charlie Sheen is great playing himself. When you take away all these shows that leaves mostly the crime scene/police shows. I do like CSI but they put LOST up against it at the start of this season. So I had to pick favorites and went with Lost. Luckily they have now moved Lost to 10:00 so I can go back to watching both. I also like the other two CSIs but I started watching them on DVD first so I'm too far behind to watch them regularly as aired. I watch most TV series on DVD now because I prefer watching entire runs at a time.

As for cable/satellite networks there's only so much I can take. Sometimes I will see something of interest on Discovery or History, but again they are mostly biographies and documentaries and alot of these historical people I just don't find that interesting to watch. There's only so much information on Hitler a person can take. Watching a cooking show or garden/home improvement show seems like a big waste of time to me. I'm never ever going to do any of that stuff so there's no point in watching that. Most of the other cable channels like Spike/FX/TV Land just play constant episodes of TV series that I like but I have on DVD already. I don't watch entertainment channels like MTV, E or VH1 because they stopped playing videos back in the 80s/90s, and I really don't care what Britney, Jessica or Paris are doing anyway. So the only two cable networks I will watch with any regularity is Comedy Central or Sci-Fi. I love Comedy Central Presents or just about any stand up comic performance, but most of the time I will just sit at my desk in the other room and listen to those. I watch Battlestar Galactica like I've already said. I watch that one just as religiously as Lost.

That leaves the Premium Channels. I only have HBO and Cinemax, both of which I should probably just cancel because they no longer show anything I would watch regularly. Used to love Six Feet Under, Carnival, Oz, Sex & the City, and Rome but lately they haven't had anything that comes close to those. I could never get into the Sopronos or Curb Your Enthusiam (both of which are still on out of all of them). I don't get the humor of Curb Your Enthusiam at all. Not sure why this show is even still on, but I know lots of people like it for some reason. That dude just annoys the crap out of me.

So taking all of these ramblings into consideration...LOST is the best for network TV and BSG is the best for Cable.

The problem with the show is that it should have ended a season ago. The ratings are so good that they extended it which in turn compromises the integrity of the show. How many filler episodes have there been? Some people I know love it no matter what. Others just gave up on it. Then theres me who invested so much time into it I have to see how it ends! Its a hit or miss show. I hope it proves to be worth it!
