    Bummer for me!

The Joanne Fabrics near my work (2 blocks away) in Emeryville, and the one near my house are folding shop. They are currently on liquidation, and any fabric for purchase requires a 2-yard minimum. No more quick jaunts to the fabric store during lunch hour...No more buying 1/8 yards of fabric to drive the ladies at the cutting table nuts. *sigh*

Coming this July, they will create a bigger Super Mega Joanne Fabrics at the midpoint between my house and work. Now it will be an extra hassle to get to the fabric store. Do-able, but a hassle none-the-less.

I told my mom how bummed out I was feeling, and she had no sympathy for me. She said, "Oh well. Maybe by the time they put up the super store, you would have tired of your new hobby."

Interesting...I just got back from Joanne Fabrics at their Colma store. I sure hope they don't plan on closing that location. Anyway, sorry to hear they are closing shop near you.
