What a complete bummer. I really liked him and rejoiced when they released both seasons of Grizzly Adams to DVD. A simple show, but relaxing with good moral lessons. A solid family show. I think I'll start showing it to Lil D tonight.

Haggerty was the perfect example how the media tried to destroy a celebrity --- and probably succeeded .

Dan was not afraid to admit he liked to partaketh in the (now legal in progressive states) cannabis.

Back in the early 80's he was labeled a "drug addict" for that.

I liked Grizzly Adams as a kid and his big bear friend Ben. Denver Pyle pre-Dukes of Hazzard was on the show, too. Mattel made 12" Grizzly Adams figures.

What I really liked a few years after the show was cancelled there was a movie conclusion where Adams proved his innocence.

RIP Dan Haggerty you were a good TV role model the kind we need today.
