How My Company Celebrated Earth Day!

Corporation marks Earth Day with fluorescent light bulb giveaway

This morning, you may have asked yourself, "Why is there a light bulb on my desk?" Answer: it's our Earth Day gift to you! It's a small token to raise awareness about minimizing our environmental footprint.

Replacing one incandescent bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL) will keep a half-ton of CO2 out of the atmosphere over the life of the CFL. This is why The McGraw-Hill Companies and its real estate partner CB Richard Ellis are marking Earth Day by providing employees with a CFL bulb to use at home.

At The McGraw-Hill Companies, protecting our environment doesn't take place just once a year-it is part of our values and reflected everyday in our policies and practices. To learn more about the Corporation's progress, read today's Communications Corner on the Intranet <http://mhc.mcgraw-hill.com/corpcomm> .

In recognition of Earth Day, The McGraw-Hill Companies will extinguish ceiling lights on all floors in our building today between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. (with the exception of the 37th floor).

Glad they reduced your carbon footprint by giving you light bulbs full of mercury.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?
