I have Midge Ure on my facebook feed and he does a great job of semi-uligizing Bowie. I agree with everything Midge says:

Man, I've been listening to Bowie ever since I was about 10 years old courtesy of my sister's collection of 45s. I didn't appreciate him much when I was that age, thought he was a little "too weird," but as I've gotten older (and hopefully wiser), I've come to have a greater understanding of the messages in his songs and just the sheer amount of talent and imagination the man had. RIP David Bowie. Condolences to his family, friends, fans and enthusiasts...sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! I won't post it here because I think the video would be just a little to creepy/eerie...but his last video he did for a song called Lazarus is just like I said...creepy and eerie. It's on you tube if anyone wants to see. I knew he had an album coming out but to come out on Jan 8th in the UK and then pass 2 days later....ughh."When not too many people can see we're all the same

Got into Bowie in the early 80's and that's what lead me to love his 70's stuff.
I know it's not hip to love 80's Bowie, but it's what turned me on to him.
