Fellow Canadians....is it time to sell off??

With our plummeting dollar heading ever downwards I've been wondering is it time to sell off parts or major portions of my collection? I was wondering do you guys think it will go even lower than the almost 40% to the US dollar?

Some predicted it could go as low as .55 by the early 2020's.

Mostly because oil prices went down dramatically.

I would hold off selling anything until at least November of this year

getting closer everyday to .55...probably we'll be there by Easter.. I guess we better start jacking up the export price on maple syrup and hockey pucks

You'd be better off trying to lure more US businesses across the border while your dollar is low

        Shhh, I didn't say that

Yeah, due to several reasons, I think it will go lower before it starts to recover. I feel for my fellow Canadians, but I have to admit that it's good for me as my salary is in US dollars.

I am selling down some of my extras and show stock but it's not to accumulate cash so much as space and keep a l'ill money aside for things I may want.

I haven't been selling of anything from my collection, but I sure as hell haven't been adding much either.
I already feel we get gouged on shipping costs, now we have to pay 40% more for that too?

Exactly!!!....I haven't added anything and don't plan on it anytime soon.

Don't forget the global shipping program fees too! I think it's almost around 40% on the purchase price as well.

Any idea why you see eBay listings in US Dollars but the S/H appears in Canadian Dollars?

This always throws me off as a buyer… perhaps you can choose the currency in listings to have a higher, more accurate sale price from Canada? Or is this something on the user-side (search preferences)?

                          That is very confusing.

My eBay adventures have been seriously curtailed of late due to our sagging dollar.

Huh?! I know nothing about exchange rates and such, just see how high the US dollar and UK pound is when I want to exchange some for my US and UK trips......and BOY have they gone up the last year or so!!!! Really hoping it'll start to go down again soon. It used to be so cheap for people in this country to shop in the US and UK. It's still cheap in the US,not so much the UK.

Btw,speaking of selling off stuff. I got a question today from a former work colleague of mine who wanted to know how to get the best price for vintage MOC SW figs. Anyone have any advice? I told him I think ebay would be his best bet. I'm also gonna ask a certain Toy Hunter friend of mine, but I wouldn't actually sell to him, lol. I buy stuff from him though, always fun to haggle down the price, lol.

                              J-R!
