Ah, this is sad news. I loved Trapper almost as much as Hawkeye on MASH, sometimes more. Hawkeye and Trapper had a chemistry together that BJ was never quite able to replace, perhaps because BJ was a happily married man with a brand new baby. But when you put Trapper, Hawk and either Frank or Henry in the same scene together, they shared a very similar ability to play off of one another as did another famous television triumverate: Kirk, Spock and McCoy. You will be missed Wayne. Condolences to your family and friends...sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon. -
Basically...to me...MASH didn't exist after Wayne Rogers left. Mike Farrel was horrible. The relationship between Wayne and Alan Alda was second to none.
I could watch the first 2 seasons of MASH over and over and over and over......Comment

I've been watching M*A*S*H on a regular basis, on weekday evenings, since I've had MeTV. I didn't understand it when I was a kid. I love it! So, this is very sad news.
Rest in peace, Trap.

I don't think a Trapper / Hawkeye / Winchester trio would have worked. Frank Burns worked because he was a buffoon and took their crap. Winchester was too proud to take crap and always tried to retaliate.Comment

He just wasn't that funny either...but neither were the new writers that came on staff.Comment
