Awww....that's really ashame. I remember him from The Harlem Globetrotters Popcorn Machine on Saturday mornings, and that cool Burger King commercial. And I loved watching any commercials advertising personal appearances w/ the 70s Globertrotters working their magic w/ the basketball. And even though it really didn't include his real voice, I love the other Harlem Globetrotter cartoon too. RIP Meadowlark!

I'm kinda surprised and let down most of our media out there just let this story pass with little mention --- msnbc ran it on the bottom while endlessly talking about Trump above.

didn't see any mention from the fox

Guess the people that run these shows are probably too young to care about anything that doesn't effect their personal version of nostalgia.

I remember Meadowlark, well, and always really liked him. I loved the Globetrotters when I was young. And, as you know, they were very popular in the 70s. I watched Meadowlark, a lot, on ABC's Wide World of Sports. Also, loved those cartoons (them on Scooby Doo and in their own series). I even saw him at a game before he left the team. In fact, he had a show not too long after he retired and I watched it even though it really had nothing to do with the Globetrotters. For me, it was a tie between he and Curly Neal as far as who my favorite Globetrotters were.

RIP Meadowlark Lemon. You were magic!
