What dinner are you having for Christmas?

We are having both American and Mexican.

For American, a traditional Smithfield Crunchy Glazed Spiral Sliced Ham with side dishes.

For Mexican, traditional chicken and pork tamales, yum.

A couple of Cazadores tequila shots too...

    Merry Christmas!

I'm making chili and cinnamon rolls, which I'm excited about but I am totally jealous about your tamales, Hector!

I got the tamales from this place...

          Best tamales in Oakland.

Mom used to make them, but obviously can't anymore because of her illness.

I bought one dozen, just for our little household of three.

          Yup, they are delicious...

P.S. You make your own chilli?

Oh man, those tamales look amazing!!

Yeah, I make a big vat of chili and let it simmer all day. Sometimes I like it with tortillas and cheese and sometimes cinnamon rolls. It's what my mom always made when I was growing up, and it's one of my things I really look forward to at Christmas.

We're getting good Chinese/Thai takeout. We'll do 1-2 Chinese and 1-2 curries. Only problem is that they're swamped. Last year they stopped taking takeout orders while I was picking mine up around 3. I'll be ordering dinner at 1 tomorrow just to be safe.

We do brunch. Not metrosexual brunch, but breakfast for lunch, after my niece and nephew have opened their presents.

Even though my parents don't know what Festivus is, the Airing of Grievances usually occurs during dish-washing.

                    Those tamales look delish!

We are having a turkey breast and a spiral ham with mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, etc.

A common experience for a lot of us, to be sure.
