    Best video/cam corders???

I was looking over models of video cameras and was wondering what was better as far as:

    brand name?

    Sony, JVC, Panasonic?

    DVD?

    Mini-DVD?

or 30 to 60GB hard drive?

I'm a big fan of Sony's video cameras personally.

I just purchased a digital camcorder that has a lot of flash memory but can't remember if it is 30 or 60.

I probably would have gone for an HD but they were much more expensive and I currently don't own an HDTV so it wasn't worth it for me right now.

The camera takes good footage and looks really good when hooked up to a television. I think mine holds 16 hours of footage which is good because we are not very good about transferring our footage onto other media.

I think my next one will be a HD cam corder that used a SD card. This type keeps getting better. There small and with the price of SD cards you can just keep buyibg them like we used to do with video tape. It's also easy to bring the video into the computer if you want to edit it.

I've been monitoring this for a while now...

I'd go for the HD Model(s)...All other formats are on the verge of being phased out.

In regards to Manufacturers, this is what I've found:

Sony Models tend to have a lot of weight...they feel solid in your hands, BUT they are WAY more expensive with a lot less features, space, range, and battery life.

JVC tends to be cheaper with a more space and range, but they feel like absolute plastic. One drop and you're done, especially if it's key component is a HD!!!

Panasonic could go both ways, tends to have some weight to it but still very much Plastic. Prices tend to fall right in the middle as well with not as many features as JVC.

So in the end, it depends on what you're looking for.

I'm looking for HD Space and Range with a somewhat solid body.

For a while there it was only Sony and JVC...I'm still looking and waiting for more competition to enter the fray so the prices will come down.
Everyone is Entitled to MY Opinion...Your's, not so much!
