I use them but I don't like them. they take too damn long to light up. I don't notice any savings on my electric bill either

Yep I use them still not completely converted though. Also they can't be used in barns or garages because of the temperature.

I tried to use them in this house, but the fixtures are so old, they either flicker or burn out super fast.

I hadn't heard this, but a quick Googling reveals that you're right. I use these bulbs in outdoor lights that are left on 24/7, so the temp isn't really an issue. However, yeah - it does take a while for the ones in my garage to get bright.

Overall, I'm OK with these bulbs. It took a while, but they've grown on me.

I used them, but never liked them. I've been switching them over to LED bulbs and I think they're awesome. They're a bit pricier, but we get a provincial subsidy for switching which helps a bit. The light looks fantastic, they dim properly and supposedly the last much much longer.

I like them because they don't burn hot. Not at all. So that's a good thing.

We started using them few years ago, and they just irritate me now as they take too long to come on and don't light as brightly as they should -- never lasted as long as they were supposed to. I've been switching everything to LED and I'm much happier with those.

Are you guys buying the 100W-120W ones ?

If not, I think that's your problem not enough light.

The one I have in my kitchen right now is 120 and I swear it's brighter than any regular bulb.
