Oh yeah, PBS and Canadian television introduced me to many great British comedy shows. In addition to Are You Being Served, when I was growing up I watched a lot of Keeping Up Appearances, Fawlty Towers (a true classic!), Monty Python and a bunch more. I still love a lot of more recent British shows too, and with the internet, and Amazon UK, I can watch all I want. My current favourite is Toast of London, I'm a huge Matt Berry fan!

I'm three shows into that on the recommendation of a friend. I would watch Matt Berry read a phone book and laugh.

Absolutely, I love his voice and delivery (I think we were talking about him last month). The scenes where he does voiceover work on this show are classic. "Yes, I can hear you, Clem Fandango." (and yes, the character names they come up with on this show are amazing).

And crap, I just realized that the third series started last month, downloading now!

I'd never heard of it (although I'd seen some Clem Fandango scenes on youtube) but Lenzi sent me a photo of the back of the book recently and i knew it was for me.

Matt was in attendance at the Flash Gordon 35th celebration last week, he's a big fan. Brian Blessed plays Toast's dad.

Cool! Ever since seeing Berry on the IT Crowd, I've followed what else he's done. If I knew that you were a fan I would have told you about Toast a couple years ago. After what you've told me about Jason, I'm not surprised that he's a fan too, I heartily approve of that dude's taste!

A few of those sound familiar, but the only one I've seen was Father Ted, and that was more recently. Great show though!

We got all of them in Canada in some form, Porridge was particularly great.

Heh, you'll be happy to know that I have it on good authority that he's a very sincere and genuine person in real life as well.

Vicar of Dibley is one of the ones we got on our PBS stations. A&E introduced me to Rowan Atkinson genius with Blackadder.

Just in listening to your podcasts he sounds like a cool, interesting guy, it would be awesome meeting him someday.

You should see the US adaptation they did "On the Rocks" and this what the US turned "On the Buses" into:
