    R.I.P. Scott Weiland...Dead at 48 years old.

Damn Shame. I think everyone saw this coming after many stints in rehab. First two albums by STP were just beyond GREAT! Seems like there are always demons with great singers. RIP Scott...the pain is over:

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
    The beauty that surrounds them
    Isn't it a pity".

that is sad another one from the grunge era andrew wood, kurt cobain, layne staley & all to do with heroin to some extent.last year the singer/guitarist from the holloways went the same way.went to see the holloways and they had people up on stage handing them microphones and guitars to sing and play along with them then hung out with the audience for the rest of the night signing autographs not charging people of course.

Very sad indeed. STP was my favorite band from the grunge era. Rest in peace Scott.

So sad, addiction really took some talented folks.

I've had Mockingbird Girl stuck in my head all this week.

Life is short enough without helping the process along. I hope he is at peace. Sad loss indeed. RIP Scott.

So sad! He was the best front-man from the 90s on. Incredible stage presence. One of my personal favorites! I knew it was coming, but still sad!

Not at all shocking, but very sad. Always liked STP. Addiction is just an awful thing.

Great showman, but as awful as it sounds, it's surprising he lived this long. So much talent wasted.

Like many said, not a surprise this happened. I also thought it would have happened sooner.
STP is one of my favorite 90's bands. Their first 4 albums are just terrific. I also enjoyed the Velvet Underground album.
I was very fortunate to see them at MSG in 95 in what I believe was their only garden show. Joe Perry and Steven Tyler did a few songs with them including sweet emotion.
                  RIP Scott Wieland

Gotta be 96. I was in college, which is why I know it wasn't 94 because I was in high school. If I wanted to I could've grabbed Steven Tyler's foot he stood so close to the edge of the stage and the rush of the crowd had my rib cage pressed against the railing. I remember the guy behind us kept pushing hard until a mystery punch ended his enthusiasm. Great concert aside from the chaos!
