Open All Night : Short Lived Sitcom from 1981

Been searching for this show since it first aired, some kind soul finally put some on Youtube. Some familiar faces in these like David Letterman, Joe Mantegna and judge Reinhold. Still holds up more or les.

Yeah, that's one of it's bigger quirks.

I had forgotten about this show...I did actually watched its entire first run...I liked it.

Sam Whipple as Terry, the lazy slacker son/clerk was funny. Sad the actor died in 2002 at age 41.

Susan Tyrell, always liked her, loved her voice and delivery...sadly, another one who has since passed away.

Whipple never really got his due, he was really great in this. He got around and always looked ten years older than he was, he died way too young.

What's even more interesting is this show is based on a British Ronnie Barker show, I remember watching "Open All Hours" in the 80s on PBS thinking "this seems familiar...."

I had no idea the number of U.S. shows I grew up with were inspired by British shows.
