While i was going thru my CDs i noticed i have about zero from the 90s and what i do have are by artist who started in the 70s and 80s U2 and Aerosmith and Tom Petty Face facts people the music died on 12/31/89
The 90s is probably when I started listening to Alternative. Lots of good stuff there (although I'm sure many will disagree):
Dave Matthew's Band, Wallflowers, Bare Naked Ladies, Matchbox Twenty, Collective Soul, Counting Crows, Gin Blossoms, Goo Goo Dolls, Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Nirvana, Third Eye Blind...to name a few.
I'm not sure but i believe Counting Crows started in the late 80s, The funny thing about Bare naked ladies is when my friend told me about them and showed me who they were i was disapointed to find out they were men talk about a let down i was hopeing to see a group like the Donnas playing naked
I'm going by when Counting Crows scored their first hit "Mr. Jones" in 1993. So it's hard to say, they may have been around for several years prior to that. I don't know for sure.
In 89 I saw my 1st Concert Ever. Metallica the And Justice For All Tour up In Seattle. For me,.. in 89 Music just got a Whole Lot Cooler.
I think for the Most part, Whatever has come out in recent yrs,.. with the exception of a very few names,.. Most current tunes they play on the Radio just Blow imo. Thank God for CD's & Ipods.
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.
Had to go look at my cd's to see if you were right and you are. Everything I have is from bands that started before the 90's u2, Police, TMBG, Pete Townshend, Beasties, Ramones, Robyn Hitchcock etc. Its going to be messed up when we get old and Brittney Spears is considered a legend. :(
You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie Banks
Can't ignore the run R.E.M. had in the 1990's. Four great albums in a row until Berry left the band to be a farmer, ( also due to Brain annuerism). I miss those days.

BNL is by far my favorite band. They put on a great show. While from Canada they call Boston their "American home" so I was listening to them before they were well known in the US. I was fortunate enough to be at their only PPV performance as it was held at the place where I worked concert security, though I took that night off so I could go to the show. I've seen them 3 other times as well. I've actually worked a Counting Crows concert as well but never got close to any of the band. They put on a good show though.
