Right after Rousey beat Correia in August an analyst on MSN Sports wrote an article predicting Holm would be the one to dethrone her, they even predicted the tactics Holm would use.
They wanted Rousey vs Cyborg for UFC 200 Sooooo bad!!!
She doesn't really deserve a rematch after such a lop sided defeat but I guess that's the match to make for such a big event. I hope Holm kicks her butt again.
A boxer beats a UFC fighter. Can't say I'm shocked.
I like Rhonda but she got too big for her britches and got put in her place. Once a fighter starts to believe their own hype, they're doomed for failure. You need to train like every opponent can beat you.

Yeah, because so many boxers have made the transition right? Holm didnt just stand and box with her, or did you not even watch the fight? She has/had 9 MMA fights under her belt plus all her kickboxing experience to boot.

Yeah I'm a little sick of hearing the boxer beats mma fighter bit. Boxers are more skilled but MMA fighters have more weapons. There are about 10x more MMA gyms out there than boxing gyms right now so it's only a matter of time before MMA takes over and the fighters the big payoffs main event boxers get.
The thing is that aside from two past prime old fat boxers, James Toney and Ray Mercer...no prime boxer has ever fought in the UFC, for one...Dana White is an even bigger crook than the most thieving boxing promoter out there. Two, the average world class boxer gets paid more than the average world class MMA fighter. The top echelon is not even close...a top main event boxer gets way more money than a top main event MMA fighter. The UFC starts and ends with Dana White, he just owns the thing. At least in boxing, you have multiple organizations (WBC, WBA, IBF, etc).
Boxers don't usually make the transition to MMA, I'd agree. But in turn, no MMA fighter has ever made a successful transition to boxing either.
Holy Holm is the first who has accomplished this feat (male or female), boxing and MMA champion.

Not if they fight under Dana White.
MMA has to break that UFC hold...venture into independent organizations (Strikeforce was one, Invicta, etc), but no way as successful as UFC)...it has to be truly be outside of Dana White's scummy hands.
Rousey prepped wrong. She went bull strong and the jabs became full hits. It's weird seeing someone not know how to bob/weave in a pro fight, but she didn't.
I also think her attitude seemed to be gauged on the audience reaction. When Holm got the best of an exchange, the audience would pop and Ronda would just charge and get stuck again. It's one thing to take a counter-jab, that's meant to back a person up. it's another to get tagged directly as you're moving forward.
Ronda acted like a spoiled child and a bully throughout the event. At the weigh in...she created and invented hatred...saying Holm pretends to be nice...and bull charged her. And at the center of the cage...when the ref told them to touch gloves, Holm extended her arms...and Ronda brushed her off...what a pathetic display of un sportsmanship.
Holm has been nothing but classy, before and after the fight.
Ronda got what she deserved. Hopefully this devastating loss will teach her some humility.
