Our realtor friend had a real ghost encounter last night!

My wife's co-worker Mark is a part time realtor and sold us our house.

Yesterday he was showing a house to a client after work and had his daughter with him because he had just picked her up from school.
They meet the couple at the house which is EMPTY, and the lockbox with the key won't open. After a few minutes, his daughter says, "Daddy, ask the man upstairs to let us in."

She says she saw a man upstairs in the window. Then, with ALL FOUR of them on the porch, they hear the front door unlock from the inside, and sure enough, it opens, but no one is inside.

They no sooner set foot inside the house and they all heard a door close upstairs. At this point they're sure someone's in the house...a squatter or something, but they searched everywhere and found absolutely NO ONE.

Needless to say, the couple said thanks but no thanks. They ware all really freaked out.

    Good story

Yea, I agree with them ... if the house is cheap enough a ghost wouldn't stop me, but a ghost that unlocks the front door for strangers could be trouble

This would be the perfect opening of a good horror film. I got the chills!

I say a well hidden squatter, because I don't believe in "ghosts".

You must have seen the Andy Griffith episode where Otis was making moonshine in the "haunted house"

Yeah, because a squatter who didn't want to be found would come downstairs and unlock the door to let four people in.
              That makes sense.

How else is he going to scare off potential buyers? Send Scooby and the gang after him...

I don't believe in ghosts and how could a squatter make it downstairs, unlock the door, and run back upstairs before anyone stepped over the threshold to see him/her.

What if this: The squatter hears something outside, makes his way to the front door intending to open it and look out, unlocks the door and realizes the noises are coming from the front porch, spins around and gets up the stairs and tries to shut the door before anyone hears, but they do hear. Now he has to get out a window or hide behind drywall or whatever.

It makes sense that way. Just sayin'!

For a guy with GHOST right in his name, you sure are working hard to debunk! LOL

I don't know, maybe a pair of squatters?

Well, the Crimson Ghost was really just a guy in a cool mask. Haha!

Ok, so the front door wasn't locked properly to begin with. So it eventually pops open by itself. Maybe from the weight of the people on the porch? Maybe from a draft coming from inside the house. As the front door open, a draft slams shut an upstairs door.

That's what I would propose as the most logical explanation.
But I do "believe" in unexplained phenomena (things that look supernatural, but are just unexplained natural phenomena), so I won't dismiss the other option.

My idea of a ghost is what happens in Interstellar...
