But if they're anything like the old ones they go through so much fuel you can only go up for less than a minute.

Wonder if it's still the same but this video was composited after making many flights ?

Just a few days ago, Nelson Tyler’s jet fuel pack buzzed the Statue of Liberty (with permission) in a daunting show of aerial virtuosity. While crude rocket belts puffing peroxide steam do this kind of thing all the time, what separates the men from the boys in the world of aerial toys is stamina — typically, at least a decimal point gain of endurance. While the best rocket belt clone today can go a mere 30 seconds, the jet pack harnesses the best that rotating machinery has to offer to extract 30 minutes.

I watched this yesterday and it looks awesome. I thought I read it could handle 10 min but 30 sounds great. I had wondered like Mikey if the video was composited but he had mentioned he had been doing a lot of unadvertised flights with it so I'm sure he had the timing mapped out. No plans for commercial production yet (from what I read yesterday) but they are still doing lots of testing and trying to increase the flight time. I havent kept up on the technology but it mentions it uses kerosene which I thought was new, but they have been using that in other jet packs for quite a while.

                  Not me...first, I'm terrified of heights...second, I'm too heavy.

The website states 10 minutes of flight time depending on individual weight, well, with me, that would be a one minute flight...that's if I actually manage to get off the ground...

I wonder how cost-affordable the pricepoint is with this thing---plus, just like w/flying cars---I've always imagined burgeoning rules/regs regarding this kind of thing would be a wacky trajectory to follow.
