^Yep, Charlie Brown and Rankin-Bass specials. The ABC Sunday Night movie opener always makes me think of Superman and Roger Moore James Bond films.

The good: Like Earth 2 Chris, hoping it is a James Bond flick.

The bad: If it is a news "special," an update on US Embassy hostages in Iran.

It was a beacon of a once-a-year event you wouldn't dare miss. Good times, before home video allowed you to pop it in when you want.

Factoid: That piece of music comes from a cue from the Hawaii 5-0 underscore.

When I see that, I always think of the holiday specials. The Great Pumpkin, Rudolph, Frosty, and of course the Grinch.

That's so cool. I never knew that.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I'm a big fan of film scores and spend a lot of time on film score monthly's forum.

Totally reminds me of the lead-in to either a Charlie Brown or Rankin-Bass holiday special. Good stuff.

Makes me remember the time old Mr. Grisby down the street said, "Hey there sonny, let me show you my pickle!"
                          But it wasn't a pickle...AAAAAAAAAAH! WHY CAN'T I FORGET?

                          And Rudolph and Frosty.
