As long as it tastes right to you...there are no rules...
I put on ketchup, a little bit of mustard, and onions.
What I do hate are those squishy, soggy buns. They should be fresh and crunchy, like a freshly baked baguette...

Yep, always put ketchup on a hot dog, along with mustard, and often relish.

To answer the question: Yes, I do... Sometimes ketchup & mustard (small amount of onions too if they're available)...

On the rare occasion that allow myself to enjoy a decent hot dog, mustard and chili sauce (basically a souped-up version of ketchup) are my condiments of choice. But if I really want to satisfy a tubed meat jonesing, give me a good bratwurst with peppers and onions, a big squirt of yellow mustard and rye bread.

Here's the one we have in here. And yeah, it's Hellman's Tomato Ketchup!

Exactly! And people who invoke that "rule" usually do so in a conversation about HOT DOGS, which pretty well invalidates it right there.

As said, I guess it's more a regional thing. Here in Chile most people can't even imagine the regular hot dog that you can find anywhere in the States. Back in the 90's I remember having my own "anthropological" experience by tasting them in NYC. YUMMY stuff indeed!

This is what we have in here. It's actually very good stuff, although personally I would not touch mayo with a ten foot pole! They call it "Completo italiano" and it goes with tomato, mashed avocado, and yeah, mayo. As you can see in the picture, it's no coincidence the ketchup bottle is there as most everyone in here eat these things with ketchup.

Yes. Nitrates is also associated with potential cancer increase.

Applegate are the hot dogs we buy...lower in fat too, plus they taste just like a Natham's, I kid you not...
