Gunfight at the OK Corral Anniversary

Just a quick historical tidbit, 134 years ago today, the most famous gunfight in western history
took place, but not in the actual site as told. I guess it's now a street corner in Tombstone AZ
wonder if anything special is going on there today?

I've been to Tombstone and stood on the exact spot of the shootout.

It's not like what's depicted in most movies ... where you think the OK Corral is outside the town.

The OK Corral is actually right in town between buildings.... In today's society it would be a parking lot next to 7-11.

Tombstone has remained 1800's rustic.

Have boardwalk sidewalks and everything

The movie Tombstone depicts it in the middle of town as well. It Hollywoods things up quite a bit, but other parts are fairly accurate.

One thing that was a big letdown when I was there in like 1984-ish ...

They had really junkie store mannequins representing the Earps etc standing in the OK Corral.

They looked like they were dressed with rummage sale leftovers.

Really made the place look extra cheap and touristy

I was at Tombstone about 10 years ago. It was fun for kids, but really it seems more like the Boardwalk at Atlantic City than an old west town.

Boot Hill was fun to see, though.
