Play Fantasy, or used to. Seems to have gone the way of the Dodo here.

I recall we discussed this here not so long ago...

My interest is more in assembly, customizing and painting more than actually playing the game, but... Yes.

Actually, the first time I ever played the game was at a Grand Tournament (2001?), with my Fantasy Army based entirely on the "Planet of the Apes" franchise (using Orc and Goblin rules).

I am still actively building three 40K armies: Templars, Tyrannids and Imperial Guards. I am most passionate about the Imperial army, as it is entirely based on WWII and Cold War Soviets (an idea I am fully aware is not unique, especially since that was the design concept of many of the actual models), and some specific figures are modeled on some of my Reenacting friends, as well as their real-world vehicles. The army includes three Baneblades, and I am awaiting the opportunity to unleash them all in a City fight Apocalypse battle (Stalingrad?).

I am particularly proud of my Bomb Dog Deployer and Bomb Dogs -- with a custom Rule Sheet I created, employing actions largely based on (exploding and random-movement) Squigs.

I also have a large volume of terrain, buildings, gaming tokens, etc., all waiting for a game.

I am motivated to add a note regarding Games Workshop's "Space Hulk" board game, which is a great deal of fun. After giving a copy to my son (Christmas), I had to get one for myself ... And then acquired an extra set of the figures, because they're just so incredibly cool.

I prefer to play the game by switching out my own painted figures (with the appropriate gear) for those that came with the game which was part of the creators' intent.
