    Wow, my second earthquake!!

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/04/18/ill...ake/index.html

Kinda weird waking up to the house shakin...knick-knacks rattling...the sound of a freight train without the winds of a tornado...freakin weird.

Last time Cent. Il had an earthquake buzz by that I recall was around 1988-89.

I was at SIU Carbondale in 89, that was the year everyone freaked out about the "Big One" that was gonna hit on the New Madrid Fault line. Some wackjob dude predicted the day and time and everything. Some people actually took him seriously and made their kids come home from colllege because the "towers" dormatorys weren't E-quake proof. I think they even cancelled classes that morning. Oh yeah, and absolutely nothing happened.

Remember the big floods along the Mississippi around then?? That was pretty crazy too. I remember an old farm house floating down the river with like a pig and a cow hanging out on the roof.

I was online and felt my computer chair and desk shake for a few seconds. It wasn't too major, but enough to be noticed. My wife was lying in bed and she felt it too. Then I saw the news just now, at least I know we're not crazy! haha First time I've ever felt an earthquake around here.

Oh and I'm on the south side of Chicago, IL.....crazy that it was felt here and all the way down in TN.!!

We felt aftershocks from today's quake in Central KY. At first I thought my dog was scratching real hard and shaking the bed!!!

I was at work and never noticed anything amiss. I didn't know anything had happened until some of my coworkers arrived for their shifts and mentioned it.

It can't be as bad as the earthquake we had in England
                      about a month ago.

                      English Paul's Jawa moved
                      and
Bo8a Fett's stomach was heard to growl

They been sayin' that for thousands of years. Every few years another date is picked as the "finale" day. I remember back in 1980 when all the planets were lined up together in a row they said that there was going to be mass destruction because of all the gravity pulling off each other. Didn't happen.

Y2K - We're still here. I remember my mom getting all freaked out by this one. I finally had to remind her that the international date line was like half a day ahead of her time zone. Nothing happened to other countries who hit the midnight hour prior to her time zone.

The earth's just got a case of the farts and it keeps a turnin'

That figures! It would have to end on my birthday right along with coupons , contests, offers and other stuff that always seem to expire at the end of the year. I guess everyone will just have to start mailing my BD gifts early that year.
