    Any annual Halloween movie suggestions?

I've been watching a horror/monster movie each year in late october. Last year I watched the Invisible man. Halloween (1978) the year before that.
This year I was thinking The House of Usher with Vincent Price which my girl wants to see. Any suggestions of a vintage thriller/Horror? I have Netflix and the local library as rental options.

Have you seen The Babadook? It's not vintage, but it has a 70's vibe, kind of in the vein of The Shining or The Exorcist. I think it's still on Netflix.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

          Borderlands, aka Final Prayer.
It's about a haunted church somewhere in England, and priests are sent to investigate. Don't look up the ending, you'll spoil it...

It starts out pretty boring, Blair Witch style found-footage.
As it progresses, it becomes really creepy, with an unexpected twist at the end.

Don't expect anything spectacular, it's fairly lowbudget, but quite effective.

What are the best (or worst) late 60's-early 70's b-movies on Netflix?

I always enjoy a little bad cinema with Elvira. You can't go wrong with "The Devil's Wedding Night" if you can find it.

As for Elvira herself, check out "Elvira's Haunted Hills" which is a fun, low budget love letter to the old Corman Poe movies. Or just watch some of the Corman films. Pit and the Pendulum or House of Usher are great.

John Carpenter's The Fog is just about perfect for atmosphere this time of year.

Raimi's Drag Me to Hell is probably my favorite horror film of the past few years. It's a hoot.

Want some Euro-horror? Can't go wrong with Suspiria. So creepy. Or Mario Bava's Black Sunday or Black Sabbath. Both are great.

Gotta throw in some Hammer. Give Dracula has Risen From the Grave a shot. It's very colorful and beautifully photographed. Or go mod with Dracula A.D. 1972. They actually get a lot of things right in that film.

Wes Craven died this year. You should watch a Nightmare on Elm Street film. Dream Warriors is an awful lot of fun.

Would it be Halloween without some George Romero? Night of the Living Dead is perfect.

Like 70s horror? I just love the Omen. Damien Omen II is a helluva lot of fun too. Skip the Final Conflict.

Then watch It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and Garfield's Halloween Adventure (that one rocks!). Or watch the Headless Horseman segment from Ichabod and Mr. Toad.

And speaking of Headless Horseman... Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow is pretty triumphant.

Oh, and that guy at the bottom of my signature is making a subtle suggestion that you watch Creepshow.

Wow! I think I just made my Halloween watch list.
