If Hell exists, this collection of 1989 - 1993 Kmart in-store music is the soundtrack
Exceptionally bad. I only listened for a few minutes and couldn't listen any more. I'd still go with We Built This City as Hell's theme. I'm reasonsbly certain of this.

interspliced with Its a Small World from the Disney ride, trust me I was stuck on it for 20 minutes or so and it was hell.
You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie Banks

'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
I worked at Kmart in the late 80s and actually remember this music fondly. I never thought I would hear it again. I met my wife at Kmart when we were both college student employees. We often talk about KMRTEEeeeeEE, which featured the wonderful Rick Astley (Kmart is what I think of when someone Rick-Rolls me). She will be surprised to hear this.
If I had only spent a tenth of the time studying Physics that I spent learning Star Wars and Baseball trivia, I would have won the Nobel Prize.
I remember we had a similar system when I worked at The Gap in the Oxford Valley Mall during the early 80's. Except we didn't use cassettes. Instead, corporate sent these large 8-track looking tapes. They were about 2-3 times bigger than 8-tracks, but worked the same way- endless which could be switched between tracks, but not fast-forwarded or rewound. The stores also each had special players.
They played all kinds of pop music from the early 80's. The selection was more akin to a K-Tel collection moving from Bruce Springsteen to Flock of Seagulls to Kenny Logins. I used to know just when to switch tracks to catch a song I liked.
I worked there in the late eighties too. I remember endless replay of red red wine, and the Moody Blues I know you're out there somewhere with some other really bad 80's music. actually I like the Moody Blues but after hearing that song in endless replay every night, it got old really fast
