If you could meet anyone in history who would it be?

Just curious about this, if you could sit and talk or meet anyone in history dead or alive other than family members or religious representatives /symbols who would it be? it can be anyone who made an impression on your life, interest or hero other than a relative or religious person. Author, actor, comic, artist, otherwise or just someone you found interesting or made you think. Just trying to keep this open minded within the limits of our boards boundaries without any conflicts. No judgments. Just your personal choice. No wrong or right answer. All in fun.

Can't think of anybody other than family that left a big influence on me.

If I could pick ANYBODY out of history to meet i'd pick Hitler.

Would love to get a picture of his face the second after I kicked him in the balls with my steel toes

Martin Luther King. I think, had he lived to a ripe old age, the world would be a better place. I'd warn him to be very careful.
Freddy Mercury. I'd warn him to be more careful, because I miss the best band in the world.
The architect Gaudi. He was a huge fan of new technology, and when he went to see the first electric tram in history...he got run over by it and died. I'd warn him to be more careful, of trams and irony in general.
Groucho Marx, the funniest man that ever lived. Imagine the conversation!
Boris Karloff and the "gentlemen of horror" of his generation. Nobody has ever been able to fill their shoes.

Easy one for me, that would have to be Jesus, I mean isnt that the ultimate question, was he really the son of god, is there life after death?

Due my my most recent mindset, I'd have to say Michael Jackson. I've always been a fan of Michael, (along w/ my Shaun Cassidy and Rick Springfield fandom), and I never believed all the vicious lies told about him. This man was persecuted beyond belief, and I would want to know how that affected his life. He was also the most talented man of his time, and I'd want to know what inspired him, what drove his need for perfection, what his dreams were for his children and for his future (if he was blessed to actually have one), and the truth about his family.

'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

I have always thought it would be fun to take a video back in time to just before someone is going to die and show them the impact they will have on the future, like Da Vinci and technology in general, or Kennedy and the Space program.

For me, I'd most likely be looking at some writer. Probably either Raymond Carver or Kurt Vonnegut. Heard Vonnegut give a talk back in the 90s at the University of Chicago, and as a literature geek, it was one of my favorite events I ever attended. The thing is, if I met either one of them, I don't think I'd know what to say. I feel like any question I could have asked them would have seemed trite and superficial and I would have come off looking like some sort of bumbling fan-boy.

My first instinct was Peter Cushing, Vincent Price, or Boris Karloff. But then I really thought about it, and I could imagine each of them being baffled by my desire to meet them. "Of all the people in history, and you wanted to meet me?" So I guess it would have to be some heavy weights out of history. Maybe some philosophy or literary greats, maybe some military or political figure. Homer, Shakespeare, Churchill, somebody like that.

I think most people would pick Jesus as well...but the thread stated other than family members and religious representatives and symbols.

I'm agnostic, but I'd definitely be up to meeting Jesus too...as even agnostics and atheists know he did exist...and changed the world.
