kills me to say but the yankees can be a class act

First off I am a Red Sox fan.

The Red Sox main charity is "the Jimmy fund". Well the Yankees have donated the Red Sox shirt that a worker buried in the new Yankee stadium to the Jimmy Fund. They are going to auction it off.

If you don’t know what the Jimmy Fund is, it’s a group that fights child hood cancer.

No matter how nasty the owners of the Yankees can be in the baseball world when it comes to the real world they are good people.

As immature as sports feuds can get I thought that was really nice they decided to auction it for the Jimmy fund.

I hate the Yanks, but George Steinbrenner has always been a very big contributor to the Jimmy Fund. I definately can't say anything bad about that at all. WEEI is the #1 sports radio station in the US and is based in Boston. They run one of the biggest radio telethons in the US and it benefits the Jimmy Fund and George takes time to always call in every year and always makes a large donation. Even I can't say anything bad about them on that level. I want to, really, really bad but I can't.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I'm a lifelong Red Sox fan, and am in complete agreement. A very classy gesture.

Yes, I heard on WEEI it was in really rough shape, so they are including a new Ortiz shirt with this one for the winning bidder.

It's a great promotion for both the Sox and the Yanks... and the best thing is the kids are going to get the money.

This is a case where EVERYBODY wins.

I'm really glad it's going down like this.

At least something good has come of this.

Can't really blame the Sox fan for trying to pull the ole "Curse your rival" thing... as a Yankee fan, I'd do the same thing in that position.

Rooting for the home team, and hating the opposition is just part of the game!
