I grew up with a lot of antique/family heirloom furniture, but I'm not the one in possession of most of that now. However, I do actually have my TV currently sitting on top of an end table that's been in my family since the early 19th century, and also still have the chair that I used at my childhood desk, which was also used for the same purpose by my mother, grandfather (and possibly great-grandfather) before me. That stuff was built to last! -
I have a chair that dates back to at least 1900
It's an old wooden dining room chair with no back.
Originally was handed down from my grandma to ma to me.
Used mostly for a spare utility chair or even step.
It even acted as 12" GI Joe headquarters a few times back in the day.
It's been painted over multiple times and looks like something you'd see in a barn
It'll be with me until I drop dead --- right now it's acting as a plant standComment

There are several pieces of our old furniture from my childhood I wish I still had. But the oldest furniture in my house is an easy rocker in my room, and the kitchen table and chairs both ordered from the Montgomery Ward's catalog in 1980."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

I still have a rocking chair that I got when I was like 16. Guess I was an old soul....

Me too, although someday I will likely be in possession of some of it, not that I want to think of that right now. Our dining room table is a harvest table that my father's friend made for us about 10 years ago, but the wood it is made from came from an old barn that was built over 100 years ago, so the material is very old while the construction is recent, does that count? The desk chair in my son's room was mine when I was a kid, and my uncle's before that, so it's been in the family for well over 50 years and it was already old when my uncle first got it.Comment

i have a lot of antique furniture. one of the hope chests I picked up is from like 1908 or something. in great shape too. other pieces we inherited from grandparents and such and our bedroom set is actually my wife's great grand parents set. they don't make furniture like it anymore, quality wise. unless you buy Amish made or something similar and then it is very expensiveComment
