New Speed Racer movie

Anyone here going to check it out when it comes out? I am thinking I am going to pass at the Theatres and wait for the DVD on this one. What are your thoughts?

the teaser trailer had me leary the longer tv spots tell me this one is a klinker. I think it could have worked in live action as either a staight on camp fest or if done as a racing/action movie (fast & furiious) but this just looks odd.

That movie looks like CG puke total pass!...very disappointed in how it looks

So far the only thing that looks cool about the movie to me is the new release of all of the neat toys that have been made so far. It is just too darn bad that Mattel did not make the large Mach 5 just a bit bigger for us Megoheads.

Hmmmm....

I dunno; it's nice that everything looks like the cartoon, but from the ads it looks like they spend WAY too much time playing the "lookit our EFFECTS!!!!" game. I hate that.

I also think it's a weird idea for a film. Who is it aimed at? "Speed Racer" is older than I am! The name won't score points with the kids, and any adults who watched the original are now in their 40's.

I am going to wait until it's out on DVD.

If it receives good word of mouth I will go see it in the theaters. Right now, I'm pretty stoked to see Narnia: Prince Caspian.

Rent it from Netflix in a month when it hits DVD.
