    Eating wild venomous creatures.

I killed a 4 foot long rattlesnake in my front yard this morning.

I dressed him out, and I'm thinking about simmering it in the pressure cooker with some wild rice and lots of freshly ground black pepper.

It's really good. Tastes sort of like chicken & rice, only snakier.

I'm always hesitant of eating lawn critters because of rabies.

Not sure if that pertains to snakes and other reptiles

I love snakes. I basically live in the woods. It has been my experience with non-poisonous snakes that they are very territorial. There was an old white oak snake with very distinctive markings that revisited my yard, many dozens of times, for nearly twenty years. I have family who often visit, including two very young nieces, who are far more important to me than a poisonous snake. My home and yard are surrounded by woods. If the venomous snakes stay in the woods, they're safe. If they come into my yard, they might very well end up on my dinner plate.
